Civitas was founded 1971 with dual headquarters in Munich and London to assist US and UK based companies in entering the Continental European market. Initial focus was on joint ventures, licensing agreements and co-operations. As more and more international companies decided to start their own sales and marketing units on the "old continent", Civitas was asked to identify country and European managers to build the local organizations.
